Political parties are in advanced talks to endorse Prof Maurice Kamto for president in 2025.

Strong-willed statements from the ruling class and opposition over the October 2025 presidential election could result in bizarre and dramatic realities that could either make or break many people’s dreams.

When Cameroonians head to the polls to cast their votes in the eagerly awaited presidential election of the next year, there is a general consensus that certain strong political parties have very little chance of being at the forefront. It has led to additional work in some departments.

For starters, Maurice Kamto and Cabral Libii, the two candidates that finished far behind incumbent President Paul Biya in the 20218 presidential election, respectively, have not abandoned their goals.

Numerous unexpected events have transpired between 2018 and now, adding complexity and unpredictability to the calculations for the presidential election of the next year.

Although the opposition coalitions that had started to take shape before the election may have slowed down as well, there are reportedly ongoing efforts to create new opportunities for unexpected political marriages on a number of fronts.

Prof. Maurice Kamto, national president of the opposition Cameroon Renaissance Movement, or MRC, party, is reportedly among those putting in long hours to run for office, according to reliable sources.

We’ve been informed that Kamto is attempting to carry out his audacious prediction that 2025 will be a pivotal year in Cameroon politics.

Kamto is rumored to be actively seeking a solution, but he is keeping it a secret. It seems that he is aware of the setbacks his party experienced in his easy nomination for president in the 2025 presidential election because of his boycott of the twin polls on February 9, 2020.

According to reports, the former Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, who is now criticizing the Biya administration, is making every effort to get ready for a rematch with the current Head of State or with the candidate of the ruling CPDM party.

He is currently rumored to be in advanced discussions to represent a political party (name withheld) as its nominee for the upcoming election.

According to well-placed insiders, Kamto is looking for this kind of support in addition to a new platform in order to reimagine, rebrand, and appeal to voters more.
