Peter came to my compound to play with my son, knowing that he had just filed a petition against me- Jude Okoye addresses EFCC petition and explains how Paul Okoye became involved.
Jude Okoye has stated that he nearly lost his mind when he learned that his brother Peter Okoye had filed a petition against him.
Peter previously claimed he filed the EFCC case after discovering his brother Jude Okoye had established a “secret company” and was diverting monies from their joint venture to it.
Jude has rejected this, claiming that his firm is not hidden, and that, while he and his brothers have a joint company, they all have their own private companies, including Peter’s P-Classic and Paul’s Rude Boy Records.
He claimed that his Northside Entertainment organization had been in operation for 11 years and was not a secret.
Speaking on the petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he added that Peter never approached him to inquire about the company he claimed he had just discovered before filing a plea against him with the EFCC.
He further stated that at the time Peter filed the petition, before he (Jude) became aware of it, Peter came to his house, played with his son, and pretended everything was OK. Only for him to receive an invitation from the EFCC later.
Jude claimed that this activity nearly drove him insane.
He claimed, “This guy came to my compound to play with my son, knowing full well that he had just filed a petition against me.” I nearly lost my sanity.
Speaking about how Paul became involved, Jude explained that in order to defend himself, he had to file a petition against P-Square so that the anti-graft agency could see that the money he had in his account was also in Peter and Paul’s, and he wasn’t defrauding them.
Jude stated: “I was able to file my petition against P-Square since it is the only way I can defend myself.
“They were all focusing on my account to see what Peter claimed I had as P-Square royalties.” I couldn’t get them to look at their account and see that what I was having, they were also having.
He stated that the EFCC case is still ongoing, and the Commission has been quite thorough.
He maintained that whatever money he stole was his legitimate share based on their agreed-upon formula.
Jude explained: “You said that I was stealing money that I was entitled to. You receive your royalty when it is due, and you share it with three others. Paul receives his, and he shares it with three others. I receive mine, and I share it with three.
“P-Square had troubles, so you stopped sharing. I told Paul to stop sharing and let everyone keep what they got, and it’s been that way for almost four and a half years.
“P-Square reunited, and I did the noble thing by bringing it back into the fold, and everyone resumed sharing.
“However, two and a half years after they returned, Paul and Peter are still not sharing. They get it, but they keep it to themselves. I answered, “No problem; let me get on with my life.” I still wind up in the EFCC.”
