30 billion: Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute puts an end to a lucrative embezzlement of salaries
According to Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, Certain civil workers who have been out of service for years or who are no longer in office received salary believed to be worth several billion CFA francs. This was a significant business that undoubtedly involved a number of officials in Cameroon’s system for paying civil servant salaries.
The man who put an end to this business is Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute since he came to power and made the discovery.
According to Jeune Afrique, he erased 10,000 fictitious civil servants from the list of Cameroonian civil servants.
“Some salaries are been paid even after the civil servant is buried.
Around 10,000 bogus agents were found and removed from the Cameroonian state file when Joseph Dion Ngute arrived in the Prime Minister’s office in Cameroon, enabling the Public Treasury to save 30 billion CFA francs, the magazine reported in a recently published story.
The government’s top official discovered several thousand governmental servants were missing from their positions at the end of July. The latter run the same risk of being removed from the list of Cameroonian state government servants as the 10,000 people who were removed from it.
